Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the Qbi app requesting permission to access features on my phone?
Last Updated a year ago

If you install the Qbi app on your device, your phone or tablet should let you know that the app is asking for your permission to access information or use features from your device. Almost all apps need certain permissions to run on your device, and we use these permissions to run features in the app. Keep in mind that your device controls the way the permissions are named, and the way they’re named doesn’t necessarily reflect the way the Qbi app uses them.

We realize that some of these permissions sound scary, so we’d like to provide more info about how we use them. Below, you'll find a list of some of the permissions we request for the Qbi app, as well as an example of how we use each one. Keep in mind that this list doesn’t include all of the permissions we request or all of our uses of those permissions.

Device permission (what you’ll see on your device) Examples of what we use this permission for
Identity (profile data) / Device ID & Call information These permissions allows us to improve the app experience by pre-loading content when your device is in different power and/or calling states.
Photos/Media/Files (external storage) This permission allows us to store or cache content in your external storage.
Wi-Fi connection information (Wi-Fi states) This permission allows us to control when to download bigger or smaller chunks of data.
Microphone / Audio These permission allows us to play and/or record certain app audio files in your device.

We may update this, so check back here to learn more about these permissions and how we use them. To learn more about how we collect and use data, review your EULA and/or our Privacy Policy.
